The 2020 edition of the annual Rotary awareness walk by Rotary International, District 9110 Nigeria held in Lagos state on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
 
 
Rotarians from the district, led by the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu, alongside the Chairman, Planning Committee, Jimmy Evbuomwan participated in the 6.2km walk which took off from Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Mobolaji Johnson Avenue, Oregun, all the way down to the Rotary Centre on Ladoke Akintola Street in Ikeja GRA, while distributing fliers to commuters.
 
Speaking to Journalists during the walk, DG Akeredolu explained that the essence of the awareness walk which is different from the polio walk, is to showcase the presence of Rotary club and its humanitarian services in the community and also call on more people to join the club.
 
 
The awareness programme started with an exhibition which held at the Rotary Centre on Friday, January 31, 2020. At the exhibition centre, Rotary clubs in the district were given the opportunity to showcase their club projects, activities, publications, and other materials to other Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike.
 
Inter-clubs quiz competition was also held immediately after the exhibition during which the Rotary clubs present, represented by two members from each of the participating clubs, were tested on their knowledge of Rotary.
 
At the end of the quiz competition, Rotary Club of Ikoyi emerged first position, Rotary Club of Akonjo emerged second position, while Rotary Club of Gbagada emerged third position.
Plaques were also presented to the first, second, and third winning clubs.
