Government Senior College, Government Junior College, and Command Children School, Bonny Camp have received donations from Rotary Club of Victoria Island, District 9110 Nigeria.
 
 
Rotary Club of Victoria Island- one of the Rotary clubs in District 9110 scattered across Lagos and Ogun states, has donated new academic books and book shelves to three schools in Lagos state, for usage in the schools’ library.
 
The club leveraged on the official visit of the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu to the club to on Thursday, January 30, 2020 to present the items to the schools. Flower pots and office chairs were also donated to each of three schools, all located in Victoria Island area of the state.
 
The club president, Obasi John, during the donation exercise, explained that the club decided to reach out to the schools as part of fulfilling one of the six areas of focus- Basic Education and Literacy, set aside by Rotary International and also, to contribute its quota towards educational development in the state and country at large.
 
The District Governor, while addressing the management staff and pupils of Command Children School, asked that the items donated by the club should be carefully handled, and also to serve the purpose they were intended for.
 
 
Mrs Imeh Susan, the Head Teacher, Command Children School, while responding to the DG, appreciated the club saying, “We are very grateful for the books and shelves donated to us by the Rotary club. It will go a long way in enhancing the learning experience of the pupils, and also the teaching experience of the teachers.
 
She however assured the club members that the items donated will be properly taken care of, and will be put to good use for the benefit of the students.
