First Female District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI Receives First African District Governor Nominee-Nominee (DGNN), Rotary International, District 1145, United Kingdom, Rotarian Olatunji Olaleye.
 
Rotarian Olaleye will lead the district in the 2025-26 Rotary year as the first Nigerian/African District Governor.
 
 
 
The DGNN who is a member of Rotary Club of Wallington, District 1145, U.k joined the Rotary family in 1984 as a member of Rotaract Club of Owode-Egbado in the district which was then referred to as District 911.
 
He migrated to the Republic of Ireland where he joined the Rotary Club of Navan in Rotary District 1160 and served as Vice President and President- elect of the Club in 2010/11 Rotary year. He achieved his first major historic feat in Rotary in 2016 when he became the first African President of Rotary Club of Wallington which was founded in 1934.
 
 
 
The newly nominated DGNN was hosted to a warm reception earlier today by the DG alongside his highly revered super mentor- District Governor Nominee Wole Kukoyi, Immediate Past District Governor Remi Bello, as well as other district leaders which includes newly inducted member of the Arch Klumph Society (AKS), Dare Adeyeri.
