Rotary Club of Festac Central, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 presented a sum of N220, 000 at N20, 000 each to 11 indigent women in the community.
 
 
"We have decided to make contribution to The Rotary Foundation an interesting one through the “One Million Dollar Challenge. This way, not only will you be supporting and building your account with The Rotary Foundation, you will also stand a chance to win prizes in the draws. You could be the lucky winner of the star prize which is a brand new Nissan Almera car", DG Akeredolu to members of the club.
 
The club, led by the president, Chuks Ozigbo, noted that the women who run small scale businesses find it difficult to fund their businesses, hence the club members took it upon themselves to provide them financial assistance.
 
The District Governor, Jide Akeredolu who was on an official visit to the club on the said day, commended the club for reaching out to the women whose businesses were most likely their only means of survival.
 
The DG also commended the club’s workbook, describing it as “well detailed”. This he noted, he was able to observe during his meeting with the club’s board members earlier in the day. 
 
Addressing members of the club during the club fellowship, DG Akeredolu stated, “You will all recall that the Rotary International President has asked us to emphasize on two areas namely; Growing Rotary and The Rotary Foundation. We have decided to make contribution to The Rotary Foundation an interesting one through the “One Million Dollar Challenge”.
 
“This way, not only will you be supporting and building your account with The Rotary Foundation, you will also stand a chance to win prizes in the draws. You could be the lucky winner of the star prize which is a brand new Nissan Almera car”, the DG concluded.
 
 
Two new members were also inducted into the club by the DG.
