It was a rare but joyful occasion at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos as 16 new Rotarians including Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye were inducted into Rotary Club of Victoria Island East.

The new members were inducted by the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu during the club’s fund raising cum induction ceremony which the club members also used as an avenue to officially receive the District Governor.

We even do a lot more than that. We train ourselves on the ideals of leadership, fellowship, integrity and many more. Many people thought life is fulfilled when you buy new houses, new cars and the like but they come to realize that it is when you develop that inner zeal to do good to your fellow man, then you can say your life is fulfilled", DG Akeredolu told the newly inducted Rotarians

“The project we went to commission at Victoria Island Primary School today, a new library in is highly commendable. I thank RC Victoria Island East for starting that project of building these little ones. If all our leaders can be able to imbibe our ideal in Rotary, which is the Four-Way Test, Nigeria would be a better place", he added.

It was also an opportunity to raise huge funds for The Rotary Foundation and club projects as the Rotarians and guests, took turns to donate to the foundation.

Earlier, DG Akeredolu had joined the club president, Gbemi Oyeneyin and other members of the club to Victoria Island Primary School in Victoria Island, Lagos where a the school library which was newly renovated and equipped by the club was commissioned.
