Isolo market women leader,  Alhaja Wasilat Yusuf Saka, The Iya Oloja of Isolo has revealed that Rotary Club of Isolo has positively touched the lives of many in the Isolo community.
 
 
She made this revelation during the micro-credit disbursement programme by the club on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Alhaja Saka stated that Rotary Club of Isolo has helped to sustain the businesses of many women in the community who solely depend on their petty trades as a source of income through the club’s micro credit scheme.
 
She particularly thanked the Club for calling on her every now and then to organize indigent women in the market to be beneficiaries of the scheme and also its annual empowerment scheme. “If every privileged person can do same, the world will be a better place”, she said.

 
The District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Ifeyinwa Ejezie who witnessed the disbursement exercise alongside the District Secretary, Tayo Adelaja and the Chief of Staff, Ezinne Obioha described the project has “highly commendable”. “This is what we are known for in Rotary, touching lives”, she said.
 
This Rotary year, the club under the leadership of the Club President, Rotarian Abimbola Oseni disbursed a total sum of N1.5million to 30 petty traders. Three brand new grinding machines were also donated to three indigent women in the community.
The three women who became emotional by the club’s show of love, all took turn to thank the club.
 
 
Past Assistant Governor Ralph Abanum, a member of the club and Past Assistant Governor Charles Okonkwo, a member of Rotary Club of Ikoyi who were present and touched by the women’s emotional appreciation speeches further added a sum of N20, 000 each as startup capital support to the three women.
The club, in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Isolo led by the Club President, Rotaractor Damilola Kushimo also donated two clippers to two indigent young men in the community.
 
In addition, four giant size waste bins were donated to Isolo General Hospital in Isolo area of Lagos state, Nigeria. The waste bins were received by Dr. (Mrs.) Aderade Ijogun, the Medical Director, Mrs Lawal Adedoyin, the Hospital Administrator, and Mr Daudu James, the Head of HR.
 
 
The club in partnership with Sure Diagnostics Centre also organized free medical tests for the general public. 
Speaking with the District Governor, Dr. Akinyemi Olufunsho, a member of Sure Diagnostics' team of medical personnel stated that the partnership with the club offered her another opportunity to contribute her quota towards the medical well being of the less privileged in the society.
 
The District Governor was honoured with a special award of appreciation by the club during the club fellowship which held later that day. The award plaque was presented to the DG by Past District Governor Michael Olawale Cole who is also a member of the club
