Rotary Club of Ewutuntun in District 9110 has donated four sets of sewing machines to a vocational school for the physically challenged in Oshodi area of Lagos state.
 
The District’s Governor’s visit to the club started with a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Shakirudeen A. Kuti, Elewu of Ewuland where the sewing machines were handed over to representatives of Central Primary School in Oshodi, a vocational school for the physically challenged.
 
The club which is currently under the leadership of the president, Abdulmalik Adeboye leveraged on the official district of the District Governor, Kola Sodipo to the club on Saturday, February 2, 2019 to carry out the donation exercise.
 
The District’s Governor’s visit to the club started with a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Shakirudeen A. Kuti, Elewu of Ewuland where the sewing machines were handed over to representatives of Central Primary School in Oshodi, a vocational school for the physically challenged.
 
The club also set up a free vocational training for five indigent women in the community. The training which will run for six months will cover different areas which include baking, tailoring, and hairdressing.
 
DG Sodipo commended the club for the laudable projects and urged the school management to ensure that the machines serve the purpose they are meant for. He also urged them to ensure that the machines are adequately maintained.
 
According to the club, the training will commence two weeks after the official visit of the DG to the club and the participants will also be empowered with start-up tools.
