Rotary club of Lekki Golden has made learning environment more conducive for students of Victoria Island Junior Secondary School and Kuramo Junior College with the renovation of 3 blocks of classrooms and provision of learning materials for the schools.
 
 
Students and staff of the schools which are both situated in the same environment in Victoria Island area of Lagos state were full of smiles, jubilation and appreciation as members of Rotary Club of Lekki Golden stormed the school on Sunday, October 19, 2019 to commission the blocks of classrooms newly renovated by the club.
 
The club renovated 1 block of 3 classrooms in Kuramo Junior College and 2 blocks of 7 classrooms in Victoria Island Junior Secondary School. The club also donated 60 classroom chairs and tables to the school, and upgraded the school staff room with 10 office chairs and tables, 3 white magnetic boards and 1 notice board.
 
 
The club further donated 30 classroom chairs and tables, 7 white magnetic boards, 1 flag, and 1 bell to Victoria Island Junior Secondary School. The club donated text books to Kuramo Senior College, and donated a brand new generator to Victoria Island Senior Secondary School.
 
The building was commissioned by the District Governor Jide Akeredolu who also officially presented the items donated by the club to the school, alongside the club president, Winifred Ugweonu, and some other members of the club.
 
Charter certificates were also presented to four Interact clubs newly chartered by the club namely; Interact Club of Victoria Island Junior Secondary School, Interact Club of Victoria Island Senior Secondary School, Kuramo Junior College, and Kuramo Senior College.
 
 
Also present to receive the donations were Mrs Olatunde O. R, Principal of Kuramo Junior College; mr Dawodu Adebayo, Principal of Kuramo Senior College; Mrs Jaboda A. O, Principal of Victoria Island Senior Secondary School; and Mrs Ogunowo O. O, Principal of Victoria Island Junior Secondary School.
 
The club however presented a cheque of N750, 000 to the Chairman of the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Planning Committee, Abiodun Oshinibosi, for the sponsorship of 30 RYLA participants.
