The club led by the Imaginative President, Tokunbo Opanubi carried out the tree planting exercise within Ogudu GRA Association building during the official visit of the District Governor, Omotunde Lawson, FCAI, FFDG (First Female District Governor) on Monday, September 5 with the DG joining the club members in the exercise.

The club members had prior to the tree planting exercise, paid a courtesy visit to Ogudu GRA Association President, Mrs Kate Okhiwin who also has just assumed office as the first female president of the association. What a splendid co-incidence.

It has been an annual practice for the club to pay courtesy visit to the sitting president of the association during the visit of every DG to the club and this year, for the first time, the club members led the first female District Governor to meet with the first female President of the association. Right there and then, the DG decorated the Association President as a Rotarian of the club.

The club further led the DG who was accompanied on the visit by members of her entourage to Little Saints Orphanage for Girls in Ogudu where a sum of N120, 000 was presented by the club as support to the home. Receiving the donation, the Home Administrator, Mrs Dominica appreciated the club members for their continuous support to the home.

The club had in previous years donated food items, toiletries, among other items to the club. The club has also sponsored some of the girls in the home on scholarships. Also present during the DG’s visit to the club are leaders of the club which includes Past District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu.
