Chris Bmidele Onalaja (CBO) Foundation, as part of its economic empowerment programme, distributed a total cash support of N4million to 100 widows in Abeokuta on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

 


The empowerment programme which was carried out in collaboration with the Forum of Egba Rotary Clubs under the umbrella of Rotary International, District 9110 and Idowu Omowale Oyegunle Foundation, was initiated by the young founder of Idowu Omowale Oyegunle Foundation, Abdul Wadood Oyegunle.

14 years old Abdul Wadood, a SS2 student of Joa havilah college, Onikolobo, during his participation at the Rotary Youths Leadership Academy (RYLA) held at the NYSC camp in Lagos state last month, was spotted by the Special Guest Speaker, Veteran Actor Odunlade Adekola while he was penning down a letter to the actor.

 


In his letter, he requested for a partnership with his foundation which he founded following the death of his mother. Right there and then, he got a partnership offer with Chris Bamidele Onqlaja co-founded by Rtn. Bamidele and Rtn. Tolulope Onalaja who happened to be the Chairman, RYLA Planning Committee..

Present at the empowerment programme was the co-founders of Chris Bamidele Onalaja, the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Rtn. Ifeyinwa Ejezie, Rotarians Rotarians from Rotary Club in Egba, as well as Abdul Wadood’s father who happens to be a Past Rotaract President, Omowale Oyegunle.

 

The District Governor congratulated the beneficiaries while stating her excitement with the fact that the whole empowerment process emanated from a programme organized by the Rotary district.

 


Rtn. Tolulope Onalaja thanked the Forum of Rotary Clubs in Egba, especially the Coordinator of the empowerment programme, Rtn. Adetonike Kazeem for putting together.

Abdul Wadood on his part thanked the Rotary club and CBO Foundation for helping him achieve his dream as he is aimed at empowering more widows in the near future.

Abdul Wadood’s father made a passionate prayer for Rtn. Bamidele and Rtn. Tolulope Onalaja as well as all those who sip the cause in one way or the other.

A Holy Bible was also given to each of the beneficiaries by Chris Bamidele Onalaja Foundation.

The high point of the event was when CBO Co-founder Bamidele Onalaja openly declared Abdul Wadood as his adopted son, granting him scholarship all the way to his higher institution education.
