Rotary International, District 9110 has concluded plans to send 16 year-old Daniella Olayinka to Germany where she will be spending one year with a Rotary family known as the ‘Host Family".

During the one year period, she will study and mingle with children of her host parents as well as other children in the community. She will learn the culture, the language, and the lifestyle of the people, and most importantly, she will be an ambassador of District 9110 and Nigeria as a whole.
Rotary Youth Exchange is an annual programme of Rotary International whereby children would leave their family and home country to live with another Rotary family in a foreign country.

Although this is not the first time the district will be sending a student abroad on exchange but Daniella’s case is quite interesting because the last beneficiary of the one-year long programme was in 2019. Daniella was led by the Chairman of the District Rotary Youths Exchange Committee, Past President Uzoamaka Egbuna to meet with the District Governor, Ifeyinwa Ejezie on Friday, August 25, 2023 as part of preparations for her trip to Germany.

Also present were Rotary International, District 9111 Governor-elect, Dr. Wole Kukoyi, Rotary International, District 9111 Governor- nominee, Henry Akinyele, Rotary International, District 9112 Governor-nominee, Lanre Adedoyin and Past District Governor, Dr. Kamoru Omotosho, Daniella’s mother, Mrs Olayinka, Special Assistant to the DG, Past President Dr. Laurine Ubanozie and a member of the District Rotary Youth Exchange Committee, Past President Titi Sunmonu.
